Dorothea's value to her career change clients is her keen understanding and knowledge of the field combined with a caring yet objective perspective. Prior to setting up her own business Dorothea enjoyed a 20-year career in human resource management and employee communications. She worked in US multi-national companies such as IBM and The Seagram Company Ltd, primarily in sales and marketing environments with responsibilities both in the UK and internationally.
Before working in Human Resources Dorothea started her career as a trainee accountant. She remains hugely grateful that she learned to read financial accounts, understand book-keeping, payroll, tax matters etc. She transitioned into her HR career by working in a finance role for the internationally renowned architect Lord Richard Rogers while completing a Masters degree in HR Management. Once established in her HR career Dorothea was able to take advantage of opportunities to work with her Corporate Communications colleagues. She was able to develop new skills and lead major international communications projects.
Eventually she decided to make a career shift and set up her own business. She now works with firms of lawyers helping them to manage career development within their organizations and more widely with savvy professionals who are ready to take charge of their own career paths and achieve the changes they desire.
